Got a chance to fish with my good friends Bo Brown and Dr. William Mealer from Bozeman yesterday on Armstong Spring Creek. The weather was fabulous with sun shine, no wind and temperatures in the mid fifties. I was looking for the early baetis hatch that never came and Doc and Bo were slamming them on midge pupa, scuds and sow bugs. Not being a true purist after lunch ( venison BBQ and chilli) I rigged up with a scud and blood midge and landed this nice Yellowstone cutthroat.

The bows are starting to move up into the spring creeks and the fishing will get better everyday for the next few weeks. The winter rates are in affect($40.00) per day, so treat yourself to a great time. Please remember to not wade on the reds and try and target the fish that are off the reds feeding and not bother the spawning fish as they have a very important job to do, sustain our passion of fly fishing by making more treasures.
