Snow Report

I just looked at the snow pack percentages for Montana. Most of the area is 95% or better, with a few river basins being over 100%. It is currently snowing here in Bozeman making reports for later in the week even better. What does this mean? It means it should be another great summer to visit us at the Bozeman Angler and take a fishing trip. The fishing should be fantastic. The rivers will have good water levels and the water temperature should stay in the 60's, right where the fish like it. If you like fishing or just floating down the river and seeing some of the most beautiful sites this country has to offer, come join us for a day on the river.

Spring Creeks in the Spring

Fishing spring creeks in Montana in the spring can make for a great on the water, much like the day I had with Seth and Barry. The weather was partly cloudy most of the day, which brought a few fish to the surface. Seth and Barry had a great time trying to catch fish on the surface, but to no avail. However, fishing with nymphs, man what a day. Between the 2 fisherman there were 10-12 fish landed and 4-5 hooked and got away.

The lessons learned in mending and casting will be forever remembered, mend and feed fellows ,mend and feed.

Bitterroot river 3-14-09

I ventured west to the Bitterroot River this past weekend for a romantic getaway with my fish-o-holic partner in crime, Sarah. Though the fishing was secondary on this trip, we did manage to get a few hours on the water. One of the more attractive buckets that we fished had a big slow back eddie full of emerging midges and the occasional stonefly nymph, witch told me that Skallas are just around the corner.

Check out the very short clip of the "fish of the day" caught by Sarah just a few hours before I asked her to be my permanent fishing partner and the future Mrs. Webb......She said yes

Explosion in downtown Bozeman 3/5/09

As many of you may have already heard there was an explosion and fire two blocks from our shop in Bozeman yesterday. The good news is that we are fine and our shop didn't suffer any damage, in fact, we were open for business this afternoon for a while. Four buildings are gone and seven businesses were destroyed including the Pickle Barrel, Rockin' R Bar, Boodles, Montana Trails Gallery, Lilli Lu's and the American League with damage to the Rocky Mountain Rug gallery and Starky's Deli. We are grateful for the quick response from the Bozeman Fire Department and Police Department as well as the National Guard to keep us safe. Thank you to all who called and sent emails to check on our status.
